SATCHELLS MEET THE TEAM: STOTFOLD SALES MANAGER KEVIN DUFF

Some say that Kevin Duff was born to sell property, probably with a box of For Sale and Sold signs lying next to his cot!

In fact, his sales figures in the property sector over the past 30 years or so are now the stuff of local legend.

Kevin has been with Satchells for around 12 years and his desire to help people move is as strong as ever, if not more so.

So, what drives this man, our Branch Manager, to sell homes?

“It’s seeing the smile on people’s faces when they have bought a house and have the keys,” says Kevin.

“I love what I do and want to be the best of the best. I love the fact that I am dealing with people who are selling what is probably their biggest asset or buying something that is possibly going to be the biggest thing in their lives for many years.”

Kevin began his career in property, but on the conveyancing side. When the opportunity came up to become a trainee estate agent, he was attracted by the fact that he would be able to spread his wings out of a stuffy, old-fashioned office, so he made the switch and he’s “never looked back”.

Kevin acknowledges that one of the things he loves about working with Satchells is the fact that it is an independent estate agent. In a previous role, the agency he was employed by was taken over and became part of a corporate entity, something that Kevin didn’t relish.

He now runs Satchell’s Stotfold team, working with Linda and Jo. It’s a role that suits him, but it also allows him to become part of the community.

Kevin is well known in the Stotfold area, and in the past he has arranged sponsorship of various events and donated numerous prizes for local raffles and competitions.

Kevin is a family man through and through, and he and his wife have four grown up children, and six grandchildren.

“I enjoy making a difference to people’s lives,” says Kevin. “We’re honest people wanting to do our very best for the people who put their trust in us to sell their homes.”

Kevin is highly-regarded by his colleagues, and Sales Director Alan Hilditch, is first to comment on Kevin’s drive, determination, gregarious nature and his huge loyalty to the company.

Alan says: “Kevin is a born salesman. He is thorough and he is dedicated. He and his team have led the office, and the growth of the business can be put down to their hard work.

“In many ways, he is old school - and that is not a criticism. He knows about prices and he knows about the property market. He helps us to be a real proper estate agent, and that sets us apart from the competition and particularly sets us apart from the online estate agents.”

Satchells is proud of its traditional approach and family values and this is why Kevin is absolutely at home with the company, a well-regarded piece of the jigsaw.
